The Parker Symphony Orchestra is a volunteer community orchestra that performs at the PACE center in Parker, Colorado from October to May. Founded in 1994, our 2026-2027 season will be our 33rd year together. Formerly the South Suburban Community Orchestra, we became the Parker Symphony Orchestra in 2011. Our mission is to perform orchestral music that will educate, entertain, and inspire the people of Parker, our musicians, and the surrounding Denver-area communities.

Almost all of  our musicians are volunteers. Musicians wishing to audition for the orchestra can do so at our pre-season auditions in August or throughout the year. The PSO rehearses on Wednesday evenings at Cherry Creek High School. Our dress rehearsals and concerts are at the PACE center in Parker.

Our most treasured and popular collaboration over the years has been our Classic Park Holiday program shared with the Parker Chorale. Be sure to get your tickets early as all three performances sell out fast!

Many great classical works are presented by the PSO every season. Just in the past 3 seasons we have featured Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with Yumi Hwang-Williams (Concertmaster of the Colorado Symphony) as soloist, Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony, Dvorak’s famous 9th Symphony, “From the New World”, Aaron Copland’s “Appalachian Spring”, Florence Price’s Symphony #1, George Gershwin’s “American in Paris”, as well as his “Rhapsody in Blue” featuring Katie Mahan as soloist.

We have a very special treat in store for our concert in April. We will once again be joining forces with the Parker Chorale to perform Carl Orff’s monumental work, “Carmina Burana.”

In May of our ’26-’27 season we are privileged to once again have Katie Mahan joining us as our guest soloist. She will be performing Beethoven’s gorgeous Piano Concerto no.4.

Those of you who have been attending our concerts know that most orchestral compositions have a story behind them, which we enjoy sharing with our audience. Please join us for our first concert in October, when we will share the “myths and legends” behind 4 well known masterworks.
